Notes
WARNING: THIS BUILD IS MOST LIKELY BAIT but I'm stupid so I'm trying it, if you want good Heatshiver melee then Frost Blades Trickster is probably what you actually want.
SC TRADE WARNING: I am 100% six portal pilled and this is not hc viable and probably not ssf friendly either
It should be obvious to everyone, but beyond wild strike being in a bad spot for scaling it's in a worse spot to level with. I will be suffering because I like leveling with the skill I want to run.
I'll be maybe leveling frost blades until wild strike feels competent, no I will not test this before league start.
Word is that frost blades is good once you run wrath, trinity, and added lightning. Search Zish on youtube for an example.
Make sure to keep an extra wild strike in your swap, we need to vendor a 20 qual gem for our combat focus asap.
I'll also be leveling frost blades in case wild strike is unbearable before blocking lightning and getting Heatshiver.
I'll also be leveling vaal ice shot if I ditch melee to play deadeye bows, and lightning arrow + artillery ballista in case ice shot feels lacking.
I'm hoping strike mastery is enough for clear to drop ancestral call.
Attack mastery is tragic because we only get one good cluster by Versatile Combatant.
The cluster by Equilibrium isn't bad, but pathing there is a noticeable tradeoff.
The extra projectile cluster is bad, we don't scale our projectiles. Pick your poison for the +3 range if you feel like the range is too short.
Swords are an option endgame, but nightblade is cracked and we hurt for damage so damage > range imo.
The takeaway for swords is they get 10!!! range over claws and can end up by Call to Arms and the good fortify wheel.
I can't tell you what the best leveling auras for wild strike are. Once we get Heatshiver hatred/grace is our go to, but I can't imagine hatred beating out even skitterbots before then
Sell a 20 qual wild strike with a ruby ring and sapphire ring to block lightning on wild strike, it needs to be socketed in the south slot.
We can't block fire as well because the jewel gives a LESS MULTIPLIER which ends up killing the Heatshiver bonus. To see how tragic it is, socket it at the Lioneye's spot.
Buy 20 qual ass mark before bosses or no power charges on them.
You can grab the armor/evasion mastery to be immune to bleeds when in lab.
GEARING
We scale phys and cold, so try to find a claw with that on trade. Crafting it is a pain, we basically pray for phys rolls while hatred essence spamming. Fractured bases are super important, most likely fractured attack speed.
It's possible to run White Wind as a budget weapon (probably) AFTER you get Heatshiver. Go crit if you haven't yet.
Buy hunter shield with 20% roll, hopefully with open suffix. any evasion shield type is fine.
You can craft your own by buying an ilvl 80 base for best odds at rolling reservation.
After reservation shield, try to run grace/hatred/hoi. Level precision elsewhere to what you can and try to get good accuracy rolls on gear.
Shadows and Dust are cool before you're able to roll gloves.
Getting a good accuracy fracture will save A LOT of hassle. I'm expecting to want to craft melee strike range prefix on them.
Yoke of Suffering is good but you might prefer a more defensive option, crafting nonchanneling mana cost lets you be tighter on mana too.
Remember to vendor one of each berek's rings instead of buying the Taming outright.
HOW TO CUSTOMIZE THIS BUILD
One of the easiest cuts you can try is not using the +3 range attack mastery, we only have access to one good location.
Scaling damage is rough, the secondary effect is what clears but it doesn't affect your single target. Even worse, projectile and area damage don't apply to your hit damage.
There may be a fun interaction with Herald of Purity and the new minion aura support to give yourself a "free" aura. HoP is less than HoI but honestly I'd love a free Haste.
Combat Focus is rough, the less multiplier really sucks. If you stay raider, I think the only other options are tri-ele or lightning only.
This tree is easily adapted to Trickster, which also has a better Frost Blades build imo. You lose Raider qol but probably has a much better ceiling.
