Notes

------------------------------INTRODUCTION------------------------------
DO YOU LIKE BALLS EXILE?

THIS IS A TWO-BUTTON BUILD

Volatile Dead Arcanist Brand is one of the few ways to use Arcanist
Brand in a build. Despite it receiving nerfs for no reason in 3.16,
the build still functions. Items and influences introduced in 3.18
have helped bring this build back to life.

This build is not for those with weaker PCs as you spawn an absurd
amount of Volatile Dead. Screen clutter galore. But if you like balls
or crashing your PC, you will enjoy this build.

I am not the original creator of this build. I followed this guide in
patch 3.14. The build creator is named Primaeva. I am picking
up the mantle where they left off.

The original build link can be found below:
https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2911667

-----------------------------WHY LEVEL 90?------------------------------

Because leveling to 90 is easy for most Exiles to accomplish,
even the ones that don't have a lot of free time on their hands.

Getting to level 95 can be a chore and I've never had a character
reach level 100 because I constantly make new builds.

I wanted this character to be complete at level 90, and then any
points beyond level 90 are just extra benefits.

-------------------------------BUILD SCORE-------------------------------

Clear speed: 7/10

This build relies on Inpulsa's Broken Heart to have decent clear
speed. Casting two skills is already a deal breaker for some
Exiles, but there is also a slight delay before the Volatile Dead
actually start spawning.

Bossing: 9/10

This build is great if you are like me and have a lot of trouble
with Boss Mechanics (skill issue Exile). Not only is this build
relatively tanky, the game play allows you to focus on dodging
the mechanics while still having damage up-time on a boss.
The build has a decent damage output

Budget: 7Sta/10

While this build doesn't require any Uniques, there are some
items that are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for the build. It could
still make a good league starter, but may not feel as good
for clearing or bossing until you get some of the items.

----------------------------------LEVELING----------------------------------

It doesn't really matter what you level with to level 68. When I was
making this build, I was using Detonate Dead with Desecrate.

Whatever you choose to level with, make sure you have secondary
weapons with your Main Skills socketed in them. You would want
to level Volatile Dead, Desecrate and Arcanist Brand.

I have provided leveling trees you can follow if you wish. You
can pick up nodes for things that you are missing like Attributes

--------------------------------MECHANICS--------------------------------

This build uses TWO Arcanist Brands attached to an enemy. This
build will not function if you don't take the Runebinder Keystone.

One of the Arcanist Brands is going to be casting Desecrate. The
other Arcanist Brand is going to be casting Volatile Dead.

The gameplay is as follows:
 - Place both brands on an enemy
 - Run around until the brand expires or they are dead
 - Repeat

This build depends a lot on cast speed and is very mana intensive.
We have plenty of mana reduction built into the tree to make this
build function better.

Use Vaal Clarity for boss killing as it will allow your cast speed
to go through the roof

--------------------------------SPECTRE---------------------------------

In Act 3, in the Solaris Temple Level 2 there is a monster called
Auric Colossus. Using the Raise Spectre skill on the Auric
Colossus is all you need to do. Once you have raised an
Auric Colossus, you no longer need the Raise Spectre gem.
You can take it out of your set-up, the Auric Colossus has been
saved to the monster pool your Desecrate will pull from.

--------------------------------UPGRADES--------------------------------

The absolute first thing you want to do when you get to maps is
get the following craft:

Non-Channeling Skills have -# to Total Mana Cost

This also can be referred to as the Elreon ring craft.

You can either buy this craft from someone or farm Syndicate
until you get the craft yourself. I highly recommend farming the
craft yourself.

After you get the Elreon ring craft, your next goal is the get a
5 or 6 link Inpulsa's Broken Heart. This pairs nicely with the
following Searing Exarch glove implicit below.

Shocks You Inflict Spread to Other Enemies in a Radius of #

After you have grabbed your Inpulsa's Broken Heart. Focus
on getting gear with lots of RESISTANCES so when you equip
The Annihilating Light staff, you are still capped on resistance.

A Watcher's Eye with the following modifier is a good next pickup

Non-Channeling Skills have -# to Total Mana Cost while affected
by Clarity

UNIQUES TO PRIORITIZE

 - Inpulsa's Broke Heart Sadist Garb
 - Watcher's Eye with 'Non-Channeling Skills have -# to Total
Mana Cost while affected by Clarity' mod
 - Replica Reckless Defense Cobalt Jewel
 - Glorious Vanity Timeless Jewel
 - The Annihilating Light Quarterstaff
 - Rumi's Concotion Granite Flask

THESE ARE THE STATS YOU ARE LOOKING FOR ON GEAR

 - Life/Energy Shield
 - Lots of Resistances (+100% in total resistance [the combination
of Fire, Cold and Lightning Resistance on the item])
 - Dexterity and Strength
 - Cast Speed

These modifiers are nice but not necessary so if you cant get
them right away, don't worry about it. Focus on the ones above.

AFFIXES YOU CAN GET LATER INTO THE BUILD
 - Aspect of the Spider
 - Flammability on hit ring

------------------------------------DPS-------------------------------------

The damage per second for this build is based on Corpse Life
and Cast Speed.

Path of Building does not reflect our true damage.

For Corpse Life, I have used 80000 life. This is an average
of monsters (including the Auric Champion) life in level 83
areas. Your DPS will go up and down depending on the area
you are in. But this doesn't really affect the build in anyway.

The estimated DPS for this build is 4 million DPS ramping up
to 8.5 million DPS as we gain cast speed from Corpse Pact.

--------------------------------DEFENSE--------------------------------

Our Defences are as follows:
 - Almost max block and spell block
 - 6k combined life and es
 - Capped Resistances
 - Corrupted Soul
 - Ailment Immunity
 - Determination for increased Armor

For the cluster version you also get:
 - Life Leech

We are using Replica Reckless Defense because there is no
down-side to the jewel for us. We are immune to Elemental
Ailments using Purity of Elements, so we only get the benefit
of the extra Block and Spell Block it provides. This is only
true with the REPLICA version of the jewel. This jewel is
crucial for getting max block and spell block. This build
is a little-point and attribute starved due to needing a lot of
resistance on gear.

--------------------------------CONCLUSION--------------------------------

If you like balls and two-button gameplay then give this build a try.

Even if it's not a build that operates well on rares only, the rares
that we utilize are usually not too expensive about a month or so
into the league.
