************************************************ Build About Basics/Summary *********************************************************************** ~ hexblast is slow cast rate which makes it perfect to use with mines due to overwriting the base case rate with mines normal fast cast rate. ~ Sandstorm fixes hexblast crit then curse on hit ring + blasphemy guarantee the 100% more damage proc on hexblast damage. ~ why elemental res curses with chaos skill? hexblast bases damage on lowest enemy resistance which makes it more powerful to target an elemental res as those are easier to lower and we can benefit from penetration nodes like: explosive elements Throw mines and have fun! :) ************************************************ Mandatory Key Pieces **************************************************************************** *Sandstorm: This unique represents up to 7% base crit on our build and is mandatory in order to have easy time crit capping. *Curse on hit ring: This will allow us to consistent get full dps out of hexblast when combines with blasphemy curse *The balance of terror: not mandatorry but should be a priority upgrade early on as it wither on hit mod from this represents doubling the builds DPS. ************************************************ Pros & Cons ****************************************************************************************** Pros: *All map mod viable *high dps *auto targets enemies *freeze locks everything but ubers *Evade/spell supress trickster feels good defense *extremely easy sanctum full clear *all content viable. (7/7 on ubers, took 2 tries to do maven/exarch because i played fights horribly first times) *low cost initial startup(sandstorm + okay es/ev gear + wand with high base crit) *budget friendly to get started with ability to progress to very high end Cons: *dies to hits can't be evaded uber slams & uber exarch ball phase. *mana can be a struggle until elereon -mana cost prefix mods have been crafted on jewellry ************************************************ Budget Friendly / SSF Viable?? ****************************************************************************************** Budget: Can get started for a couple divines, key piece to get started is sandstorm(very common and cheap 2drop from sanctum) + any random wand with % spell damage or a chaos+ gem level and benchcraft crit chance. ~simply run as hybrid life/es based until you can craft some decent ES/EV gear following recommendation info below for crafts and you should be able to setup a fairly strong character without too much investment. SSF Viable? to run hexblast you will need sandstorm helm, this is extremely common drop from second form sanctum boss, until this helm you will have to run a different mine skill IMO, as crit will be too inconsistent. so either plan around a second character or simply plan on a bit of a respec. all gear should be easilly acquirable, the biggest grind you will have on the character is farming a wither on hit balance of terror until then you will need withering step in the build, which is also doable but I would recommend a wandering path/singular focus farm tree to speed run sanctums to do so. I believe this is fairly ssf friendly but make your own decisions based on this info, if you don't like sanctum then it probably should be a no, if you do, itll be a yes :) ************************************************ How to Solve Mana ************************************************* ~ Impresence amulet should be used early to free up mana reservation space on blasphemy curse (conductivity/flammability/frostbite, choose 1) ~ anomalous trap and mine damage gives reduced cost and reservation efficiency ~ -mana cost should be crafted onto rings ~ enduring eteranl mana flask is recommended ~ finding items with some level of flat mana + regen rate could alleviate the need for mana flask but ultimately I'd recommend a mana flask over losing gear power ~ higher end upgrades will include an enlighte/90% cost multiplier on helmet, these are not necessary, I played the build through a bunch of t16 sanctums before using these, but they will be necessary to swap to a high damage amulet. ~ swapping out of impresence requires cost reseravtion helmet as well as respeccing tree to charisma, this does not have to be done until this amulet swap imo. ~ addtionally after swapping out of impresence an enlighten is recommended to further alleviate mana reservation pool SOFT LOCK Mana: ~ this occurs when we don't have enough unreserved mana available to place as mana mines as our mine limit, so we end up not being able to throw more mines until earlier mines expire, for the most part this can be played around but is mildly annoying and can be a problem in some situations, currently to avoid this on my current setup I had to drop saboteur node on the tree because I couldn't reserve the mana for 17 mines, but I had enough mana for 16, thus dropping that node took me out of soft lock scenario. I believe this may be only a hexblast specific issue as other mine skills can be triggered without a target, though I am not 100% sure. If you have better mana on your gear you can keep saboteur. Getting rid of mana flask can be done but will require things like clarity -mana watchers eye and some mana + mana regen rolls on gear and potentially speccing dreamer + mastery on tree, I personally value the gear power and would keep the mana flask but if you don't want this reliance whatsoever there will be some addtional cost. ************************************************ Leveling ********************************************************************************** 2x tasalios + replica karui ward + seven leagues + tabby -> random spell -> pyroclast mine -> hexblast when you can equip sandstorm helmet and grab a random base wand from act 7 vendor, then benchcraft crit chance on it 2x auxium spell crit mace ************************************************ Gem links **************************************************************************** ~Damage links, follow what I have hear except for awakened added chaos, if this gem level 5 is too expensive, just use crit damage support, it technically might be more damage, it just cost about 1 more mana so at the time I was having some mana issues I opted for awakened added chaos ~swift assembly vs minefield, minefield is more damage but feels extremely clunky imo, use what you prefer. ~Flame dash vs frostblink -> personal preference but I prefer flame dash in uber fights(need to dash twice in a row happens a lot) but frostblink for everything else, use what you like. - i linked void manipulation to frostblink because I killed myself to reflect twice while speed farming sanctums and not checking map mods, some of my only mapping deaths on character came from a 1 link frostblink :) ~wave of conviction + cast when damage taken, this is to inflict fire exposure, simply swap this for frost bomb ect depending on what exposure matches which elemental resistance you are targeting for hexblast ~despair think of this as a divine blessing, just cast occasionally during/before boss fights to proc wither on hit from balance of terror to roughly double our damage output. ~auras: blasphemy curse + grace + discipline ~detonate mines + enhance, this is an easy access point to additional mine detonation speed without investing passives into it, make sure to select the detonate skill with enhance linked when selecting the skill key binds. ~frost shield, literally never used this until ubers, just some extra defenses in shaper ball phase ect, but ultimately never needed while mapping. ~shield charge, movement skill go brr ************************************************ PoB DPS? ****************************************************************************************** I honestly have no idea/very little care to setup dps correctly in pob, damage is good enough ************************************************ Ascendancy Choice ********************************************************************************** swift killer -> one step ahead -> escape artist -> spell breaker ************************************************ Bandits & Pantheon ************************************************* Bandits: Kill all Pantheon: Brine just to prevent stun lock, but honestly other majors are good options as well. pretty rare we even get hit.
