To Socket support gems in a Hungry Loop you have to place an uncorrupted support gem at 
(max level-1)  that can be leveled up, then level it up in the hungry loop
Example: Meat shield has to be level 19 with full exp bar when socketed into the ring, then hit the
level up button and the ring will eat it. Empower would be level 2 with full exp bar to do the same.

If you are resistance starved place your AG in your raise spectre setup replacing Awakened Melee Physical
support gem and use a resistance ring instead of hungry loop
