Impossible escape BM gives 4 high value nodes (inc Ashes and more consistent EC generation). Cost one jewel socket and 4 more points
2 points for an extra EC: very high eHP return (only when IC up) otherwise decent. Cost 2 points
Combat stamina wheel is nearly 800 regen!. Cost 3 points
Robust node: similar to above but slightly worse
New Oak slightly more effiicent that a 6% life. Cost 1 point
Augury of penitence: good damage and EHP, cost one jewel socket and 3 points
Arcane blessing is a massive dps (25%!) increase, cost as above: one jewel and 3 points. There is 40% increased arcane surge effect for 4 points (less if taking reservartion or arcane potency)
Arcane potency is 5 points (+ 1 travel shared) for
Hoily dominion + light of divinity: medium damage, 3 points
Soulf Steel + Mastery? 5 points, unlikely to be worth it
If MB, can use shock avoidance to get full ailment immunity. Cost one jewel socket and a MB
Circle of anguish + herald of Ash? Need other ways ot get reservation, which could be through nodes
Aspect of spider? too costly?
Blue nightmare: can get 18% (or 21%) spell block for 4 nodes, which is less than the 6 nodes in Safeguard. BUT safeguard gives 16% all res and 45% spell damage for just 2 nodes
Culling?
Must have added fire to make fire mastery work AND chance to ignite (since crit does not work) to get benefit of 100% inc. Othwerwise can take back 5points! Available on wand or passive (2 points, 3 really)

recoup? 20% for 3 pts
can add herald of ash at expense of ehp (not in 3.25). Also combines with herald rings for even more dps
MB version:
pick either bottled faith for masssive dps, or taste of hate for defence (toh dead in 3.25, maybe progenesis as defensive option)
