1 iron ring + gem = Resist ring(red = ruby, green = Topaz, blue = sapphire)
3 flask of same size = 1 flask of the next size
normal boots + Quicksilver + orb of augmentation = Magic boots with 10% increased movement speed

ALWAYS ATTACK WHILE MOVING
There is a checkbox on each skill for always attack while moving. check it. it will allow you to attack/cast in place.
If it is not checked you only cast if you have a name lock. otherwise you will walk to the position and then cast.

PICKUP MAGIC AND RARE ITEMS!
In the early game you get transmutaion shards from selling unidentified magic and rares.
You get alteration shards from selling identified rares and magic items.

First enter town(LVL1 gems)
Complete the medicine chest(LVL 1 Support gems)
Enter the submerged passage(lvl 4 gems)
Enter lower prison(lvl 8 gems)
Kill Brutus(lvl 10 gems)
Merveil's Cavern(lvl 12 gems)
ACT2
Complete Chamber of sins 2 (lvl 16 gems)
Kill the weaver (lvl 18 gems)
ACT3
Save charisa (lvl 20 gems)
Complete crematorium(lvl 24 gems)
Kill Gravicious(lvl 28 gems)
Complete the library(lvl 31 gems)

ACT1:
As you can see above we get gems quite often in act 1 so we will be swapping a lot.
Start with frostbolt (1 wisdom) and stormblast mine(1 wisdom scroll). you want 2 elements because you can encounter blue monsters with a high level of resist in either element
ENTER SUBMERGED PASSIVE 
you want to add several skills Frostblink(quest reward) for mobility, Frostbomb(1 wisdom), holy flame totem, and  flamewall(1 wisdom). 
Also, pickup steel skin and put it on left click and check the box to always attack while moving. This will make the guard skill auto trigger as you move around blocking incoming damage!
MEDICINE CHEST QUEST
Grab summon phantasm to link to Holy Flame totem. Also, grab swift assembly to link with stormblast mine. Leave arcane surge at lvl 2 so that using your movement skill will always trigger it. Adds 10% more multiplier to spells while active.

LOWER PRISON
Grab added lightning and link it to stormblast mine. Grab Combustion and link it to Holy Flame Totem. This will lower the fire resist on bosses. Since we are using flame wall, holy flame and phantasm will get addded flat fire damage.

PRISON GATE
At this point it is a bit preference. Leapslam is good if you are going to dual weild sceptres. Flamedash if you are sticking to wands. Adding vitatlity here is always good.
Merviel's Caverns
pick up stormbrand and at least 1 sapphire ring. DO WHAT YOU THINK IS FUN!

ACT2:
At the the start you use stormblast mine, frostblink, and stormbrand.
At lvl 16 switch to wave of conviction and stormbrand.
Use 2-3 heralds as desired or 1 herald + vit.

ACT3:
Ele weakness and Purity of Elements(we don't get determination unless we do library)
replace stormbrand with armageddon brand.
Racers use armageddon brand + cremation. But cremation is a dex skill and requires you to worry about dex requirement.
I will be sticking with wave of conviction and armageddon brand because it is easy and I am lazy!

ACT4:
