When leveling, start with lightning tendrils and then you can switch to Incinerate if you want right after The Siren's Cadence quest in which Incinerate is a reward.

When you can, you want to perform the following recipe twice:

Magic Wand - Orb of Alteration - Ruby ring.

The weapon must be of magic rarity.
Normal ring - tier 8 damage mod - level requirement 8
Magic ring - tier 7 damage mod - level requirement 14
Rare ring - tier 6 damage mod - level requirement 20

This will provide you a spell damage wand with a single stat of "adds fire damage to spells".  If you dual wield these, your leveling experience will be significantly smoother.

As you level, simply add in the skills as they become available to you.    You won't be able to use all the auras because of mana constraints while leveling.  
Just turn on those that you want (either defense or offense).


Order to take the asendency: 

1) Mastermind of Discord

2) Heart of Destruction

3) Shaper of Storms

4) Bastion of Elements


Use a fully leveled Molten Shell on left mouse button.  It is not intended to be used with the CWDT set up.  Either don't link it with CWDT or level it past the 
point where CWDT can effect it.


When searching for your Skin of the Lords, keep an eye out for these helpful keystones (also don't take Keystones that are actively bad for the build like 
Elemental Overload,  Resolute Techniques, Chaos Innoc etc.  Ask in thread if you are not sure)

Pain Attunement: This is the best one for this build (and what is used in this POB).  If you don't have this, simply remove the Thread of Hope jewel from the build
(and the 6 associated nodes), and add a rare jewel of your choosing in the socket where Thread of Hope lives.  Then use the 6 points you saved to path to Pain Attunement.
There are two different trees to show what we mean.

Divine Shield and Glancing Blows: Each saves 1 tree point

Iron Reflexes:  Gives us a nice chunk of armor, and synergizes with Molten Shell

Unwavering Stance: This allows for more cluster jewel choices as we don't have to worry about stun immunity any more. 

Iron Will: DPS boost

Use Skin of the Loyal until you can afford Skin of the Lords.  Use any cheap corupted 6 link armor in our colors until you get a Skin of the Loyal


For map Mods, avoid at all cost "no regen".    Avoid ele reflect until you get your 4th lab point. 

Obviously reduced block chance is a tricky one as well since the whole build is based on blocking.


To help sustain mana while channeling Incinerate look for (or craft on bench) a mod on one ring that has "Channeling Skills have -4 to mana cost"


Before you acquire the Fire Exposure mod on the gloves, you can use Wave of Conviction in the CWDT setup (you can replace Ele Prolif). WOC can stay on level 1. 
After you get the Fire Exposure implicit on the gloves, you can take WOC out and put Ele Prolif back in the build


Before you can afford Aegis Aurora, just use any shield you can find that has at least 30% block (which is what Cerberus Limb weapon requires).


If you want to go a little more offensive, you can switch Inexorable anoint to Whispers of Doom and add in Elemental Weakness


Enlighten 4 is only needed if you need to run every aura (Determination, Tempest Shield, Aspect of the Spider, Arctic Armor and Herald of Ash).  Det, AA, and TS should be run 
with out change.  If you can't afford an Enlighten 4, you can easily drop one of HOA or Aspect of the Spider. 


You can safely swap Frost Blink for Flame Dash if you want.  Frost Blink allows us to move with out needing to stop channeling incin, but Flame Dash allows for better movement around maps. You choose.


Elemental Proliferation is only needed when you acquire the Anom version of Arctic Armor.


You can use Empower level 2 until you can afford better Empower's.  


keep your eyes out for ways to add a little dex to either your cluster jewels or your rares.   Any little extra we can get will help us level Arctic Armor more.


for more damage and less AOE, you can swap Energy Shield Leech support for Concentrated Effect suppprt in the Incin setup.


If you are Super rich, look for a +1 to Skill Gems mod in the Amulet.
