CHANGES FOR 3.21
SPARK is getting a bit of nerf early on with 25% reduced projectile speed (hurts inquisitor more than champ or trickster unfortunately) - also -1 projectile early game, scaling up to the same # later on.
MIGHT HAVE TO RUN FASTER PROJECTILES for most content to make up for the loss of projectile speed, hard to tell based on #s alone.
VOICE OF THE STORM now has lucky lightning damage on it - could be nice but its a high level boss unique so not ideal for a league starter item.
MASTERY CHANGES (overall a big nerf for power in general for this character at various stages)
-Lucky lightning damage is gone from the tree, this is a HUGE nerf for the early game leveling and the early maps - crit end game is unchanged however.
-Evasion mastery now has Suppression instead, and Mana Mastery now has some Reservation efficiency if needed.
-Lost 100% critical strike chance mastery from suppression as well.
-Dagger mastery now has 50% projectile speed, this is an option over a wand now if you don't have projectile speed early on one (still can't run SMITE with a dagger)
HITS HAVE A 25% CHANCE TO INVERT ENEMY RESISTANCE even though we lost lucky lightning damage we gained this new invert mastery which helps a lot pre-crit since we aren't stacking -res / it's a big dmg boost early.
ORB OF STORMS early on especially while leveling in the campaign OOS helps a ton!
-use Ice Bite + Ele prolif for early frenzy charges and self clearing with freeze
-can use Herald of Ice over Grace or Determination early on if you are confident!
MANA a lot of people have talked about having mana issues with this build the main fix for that is on the tree or gear.
-Alira + Mana flasks for the campaign should solve any early mana issues. Clarity can be used if you really hate using mana flasks. Especially if you chose to drop either grace or determ for Herald of Ice early.
-Dreamer Nodes + Caster Mastery should fix any mana issues you have in early maps.
DIVINE BLESSING HASTE this is a pretty big deal, I think going either EB/MOM or getting a ton of reduced mana cost + new life mastery for 30% of cost as life to run this is worth it 100%.
-Diadem potentially worth it later?
-can make up suppression with Instinct nodes
TRICKSTER vs INQUIS vs CHAMPION
-Trickster potentially clears maps faster, and safer
-Trickster has a much harder time getting damage, and resistant mobs and bosses are quite a bit more annoying.
-Both are good, but if you plan on only doing maps Trickster might be the way to go. Inquisitor is a bit more versatile and can do Pinnacle bosses earlier and easier.
CHAMPION
-Might be the better build overall
-Has way more projectile speed nearby
-Is quite a bit tankier without gear
-Unfortunately the playstyle is a lot more annoying, you need to use Vaal Smite, weapon swap CF for adrenaline, and also Divine Blessing on top of the already many buttons this build uses.
INQUISITOR
-Crit is still the best option end-game so not much changed here, the main issue might be projectile speed, could potentially go for clusters or use faster projectiles gem if this proves to be a huge issue.
CLUSTERS
-I think clusters will be the best way to go now with the nerf to Spark Projectile Speed, probably the best way to gain some of it back.
MANA RESERVERATION FOR DEFIANCE BANNER
-With EB/MOM you can grab one mana efficiency jewel to run Defiance Banner.
THE AMOUNT OF BUTTONS YOU PRESS
-Focus helmet allows you to combine most of the actives into one button press (focus) Tornado, Sigil, and Sniper's Mark can be placed here. I personally self cast Sniper's Mark but this can get APM intensive.
-I would recommend you self-cast Frost Shield, this one is a bit more important and its necessary for you to facetank, you really don't want to have to wait for Focus cooldown to be up to use it, or move it.
-We are right next to the +1 Curse Mastery, so if you REALLY like pressing buttons we can theoretically can curse Temp Chains or Enfeeble next patch with high value...
