New to Splitting Steel? Leaguestart & Basics Guide - https://youtu.be/8qZPhvuXs-s

How to Play this Build

This build has a very simplistic playstyle. Splitting Steel has an effective Added Damage of (216% x Number of Splits + 1). This means that in this PoB with 10 total Proj we have an effectiveness of 2160%.
With Ephemeral Edge, we gain a lot of Added Lightning Damage for free allowing us to utilize this scaling very well. Due to us having a lot of Flat Damage, % Damage which is usually bad, becomes very good.

To actually benefit from this 2160% Effectiveness of Added Damage, we need to actually hit a target with all 9 Splits + the baseline Splitting Steel.
This will be done through the use of Returning Projectiles and later at a higher budget Nimis.
What this does is that it causes all of the Splits from Splitting Steel to then Return to you Piercing all targets.

This means that if you were to stand directly under a Boss, your first Splitting Steel would hit the boss, then Split into random directions, then said Splits would return, hitting the Bosses' hitbox on their way back to you.
The only other thing to add onto this is that we will be using Arcanist Brand to apply 3 Curses automatically which can be thought of as a big % Increased Damage modifier.

Otherwise, you will simply be using Whirling Blades and Frostblink as your mobility skills.
Frostblink is an amazing combo with Whirling Blades due to its ability to be used at the end of a Whirling Blades completely animation canceling the end of it.

TLDR:

1. Use Arcanist Brand on Bosses/Rares
2. Stand as far under the Boss/Rare as possible
3. Spam Splitting Steel

Q&A

Swapping to Precise Technique

We will be completely dropping the left side of our tree including Elemental Overload in favor of going to the bottom right side of the tree with Precise Technique.
This swap can be done immediately with no requirements other than being around Level 95.

Until you get an Ephemeral Edge corrupted WITH Resolute Technique you will need to pick up both Acuity along with the "Accuracy is equal to Intelligence" & "+500 Accuracy" masteries.
This will be required to hit 100% chance to Hit. Once you have an RT Ephemeral, you can completely drop these nodes.

IMPORTANT - How to fit in Haste/Wrath

First: Pick which Aura you would like to use between Haste & Wrath. Wrath will be ~5% More DPS while Haste will be 27% increased Movement Speed & a lot of Attack Speed.
They are both fine choices and you should just pick if you want more DPS or Utility.
Please Note - If you choose to use Haste over Wrath and you have a Wrath Watcher's Eye, it will stop working.
You can always get a "Phasing while affected by Haste" Watcher's Eye which would be a big DPS increase due to you being able to always be inside a bosses hitbox.

To fit in the one you didn't choose between Wrath/Haste you will need the following:

An Eater "9% increased Mana Reservation Efficiency of Skills" Implicit roll on your Helmet
A Shrieking Essence of Loathing "x% increased Mana Reservation Efficiency of Skills" roll on your Body Armour
Sovereignty Anointed on your Voice of the Storms
1 "3% increased Mana Reservation Efficiency of Skills" roll on your Jewel with an RMR Corruption.
A Level 4 Enlighten

Once you have all of these, you will then be able to turn on the other aura.

NOTE - You will need to swap Damage on Full Life/Elemental Damage with Attacks to Inspiration to have a low enough Mana cost to make the build comfortable.

How to Spell Suppress Cap

In this setup we will be swapping to a Forbidden Flesh/Flame setup to pick up Spellbreaker.
This will give us 20% free Spell Suppression and an insane Defensive Layer when combined with Wicked Ward.

The rest of the Spell Suppression will then come from:

Quickstep with a Thread of Hope
Void Barrier (Only on Full ES but its too difficult to make this 10% up for cheap)
The Entrench Notable
The Inveterate Wheel
A Spell Suppression roll on your Body Armour
Tattoos of the Ramako Shaman (dependant on how high your Body Armour roll is, you might not even need this if it is Tier 2 or higher)

Why is my Sniper's Mark not triggering?

Sniper's Mark costs ~70 Mana to trigger.
If you don't see it triggering on Bosses and Rares, check the in-game tooltip and make sure your Maximum Mana is higher than its mana cost.

Sniper's Mark Breakpoints

Sniper's Mark has Curse Effect breakpoints that can add/remove additional Projectiles which in our case is additional Splits.
By default, Sniper's Mark gives us 2 additional Splits but, due to us having Mark on Hit and it having a 20% Less Effect of Marks mod on it, we aren't actually getting 2 Splits.
With 20% Less Effect we are getting 1.8 Additional Splits which the game rounds down to 1. This means, if we can get 20% Increased Mark/Curse Effect, we can counteract the 20% Less and get 1 Additional Projectile which is ~15% More DPS.

This is very easy to do, all you simply need is 4 Tattoos of the Tasalio Scout which each give 4% Mark Effect along with a 20% Quality Mark on Hit.
The Quality will give you 4% Mark Effect and the Tattoos 16% bringing you back up to 0 which means we get 2 Splits.

We can take this further and push for more breakpoints.
If we get 50% increased Mark Effect we get 3 Splits from Sniper's Mark putting us at 9 total hits and at 100% we gain a 4th Split.

Getting to the 50% breakpoint will also be fairly easy to do as we can get a lot for free from Atziri's Reflection & the Expert Hunter wheel on the Passive Tree.
To get 50% you will need:

Expert Hunter - 36% Total Effect
Arziri's Reflection - 16% (All of this PoB is assuming a 16% Reflection)
4 Tattoo of the Tasalio Scout - 16%

This will put you at 64% Increased Effect of Marks which is over what we needed but you would've had 4 Tattoos in the first place.

Finally, to hit 100% for the last achievable breakpoint you will need:

Expert Hunter - 36% Total Effect
Arziri's Reflection - 16% Effect (All of this PoB is assuming a 16% Reflection)
13 Tattoo of the Tasalio Scout - 52% Effect
Level 21 Mark on Hit with 20% Quality (If this isint 21/20 you will need 1 more Tattoo) this can also be substituded with a 17% or higher Reflection roll.

Keep in mind you will be losing 13 10 Dex nodes while going for this breakpoint meaning you will most likely need to get a bit of Dexterity somewhere.
This is fixed once you get Nimis due to its high Dex roll.

Why do I have Mana Issues?

If you are struggling with mana, it's most likely due to you not having a big enough unreserved Mana pool to be able to cast without going OOM before Leech kicks in.
As a general rule of thumb, you need to have 3-4x your Splitting Steel Mana Cost as Unreserved Mana to be able to not feel any sort of clunkiness in your play.

Why am I doing no damage?

Make sure you are standing under the Boss/Rare. All of the DPS in this build comes from the Split Projectiles Returning to you and hitting the Boss/Rare on their way back.
If you are standing far away from a Boss/Rare you will only get maybe 2-3 Projectiles Returning through said monster effectively meaning you are doing 60-80% Less DPS.

Nimis Mapping Setup

Once you have Nimis, you don't need Returning Projectiles anymore as Nimis has it built in.
This means that we can replace the Returning Projectiles with any other support.

If you wanted more raw Damage, I'd recommend going with Elemental Damage with Attacks.

The other option is to instead use Awakened Fork which would increase your clear speed by an absurd amount.
Awakened Fork allows all of our Splits to then Fork 2 times after using up all of its Pierce allowing it to have substantially more cover than before.
Normal Fork by itself could also be used but it will not feel anywhere as good as Awakened Fork does.

This will make a big difference if you are farming content such as Delirium/Sims or Breaches where the increased cover is almost mandatory.
If you are not doing something that is very dense I advise you to not use this.
PLEASE DO NOT WASTE 70+ DIV ON THIS UNLESS YOU REALLY NEED THE EXTRA CLEAR

One last consideration to make is potentially getting a White socket on your chest.
This would allow you to swap between Awakened Fork and Elemental Damage with Attacks based on if you want Clear or more Boss DPS.
If you do wish to use Fork and don't have a White socket, you can instead swap to Faster Attacks, although it will be weaker than Elemental Damage with Attacks.

Gear

Basic overview of every slot and what to look for.

IN GENERAL - Fit Resistances on your Helmet, Chest, Gloves, Boots & Belt.
This build should have a very easy time to Resistance Cap due to all of the free Suffixes it has.

You also have a lot of free Jewel Sockets and an Abyss Socket to use.

VERY IMPORTANT - When crafting/searching for gear please remember that the Harvest bench exists.
If for example you need a T2 Cold Res roll but found a belt with good stats and a T2 Fire Res roll, you can just buy that belt and swap the Fire Res to Cold Res at the Harvest bench.
This means you DON'T care about what resistances are on an item, only the Tier as you can always swap the Resistance to a different type.

Helmet

For this build we will want to use an Energy Shield Helmet, ideally a Hubris Circlet as Energy Shield is a very important stat for our build and it allows us to abuse Escape Artist for free Evasion Rating.
The ideal helmet is going to be one with Double Energy Shield Prefixes along with a Phys taken as Fire craft & 1 Resistance as the Suffix.

Helmet Crafting Guide

Buy a Double Fractured Hubris Circlet, ideally one with Fractured % Energy Shield, Flat Energy Shield, Intelligence, or any Resistances.
IMPORTANT - Please pre-plan what Resistance you would want on this Helmet as you CANNOT Harvest reroll the Fractured Mod if you do get a Resistance.

You can really get any 2 Fractures together, it doesn't matter too much as all of them would work to make a good Helmet.
DO NOT BUY A HELMET WITH 3 FRACTURED PREFIXES - You will need 1 Open Prefix to craft "x% of Physical Damage from Hits taken as Fire Damage" at the end.

Trade Link to buy a Fractured base - https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Necropolis/V4KJgw8Cp

1. if you bought a Helmet without Fractured "+x to Maximum Energy Shield," use Deafening Essences of Woe to guarantee it until you get Tier 2 or higher "x% increased Energy Shield". This is ~1/28 chance.

If you bought a Fractured "+x to Maximum Energy Shield" Helmet, use Deafening Essences of Spite to guarantee "+x to Intelligence."
If you ended up buying a Fractured Helmet with both Fractured "+x to Maximum Energy Shield" AND "+x to Intelligence" then, use Deafening Essences of Anger/Hatred/Wrath to guarantee a Resistance.
You would then be looking for Tier 1-2 % Energy Shield.

Your goal here is to get a Helmet with an Open Prefix, % ES, Flat ES, and ideally 2 of the following 3 Suffixes: Intelligence, Fire/Cold/Lightning Resistance.
This means you will just use an Essence to guarantee one of the 2 Mods you are missing until you have 4 desired Mods in total.

Example: I bought a Fractured Flat Energy Shield & Intelligence Hubris. In this case I need % ES with an Open Prefix and ideally a Resistance.
What I would then do is use Deafening Essences of Anger/Hatred/Wrath based on the Resistance that I want untill I get Tier 1-2 % ES roll on the Prefix.
Once I do get it, I would need to get an Open Prefix to move on to Step 3 if there isint one already.

2. You will need an Open Prefix. If you don't have one, use an Eldritch Ember to give the Helmet Searing Exarch Influence then use an Eldritch Orb of Annulment to remove a Prefix.
If this removes either of the Energy Shield Prefixes, you need to start over again.

3. Craft "x% of Physical Damage from Hits taken as Fire Damage" in your Open Prefix.

4. Use the Harvest Bench to reroll your Resistance on the Helmet if you ended up getting a 2nd Resistance and need a different one.

Once you have your Helmet:
Use "Grand Eldritch Ichor" on the helmet to get "x% increased Mana Reservation Efficiency of Skills." This needed to allow us to fit in all of the Auras we need and to give us enough Mana left over to attack.
You can use lower Ichors but this stat matters so much it should always be gotten with Grand.

Use "Lesser Eldritch Ember" or "Grand Eldritch Ember" if you can afford it to hit "% increased Elemental Weakness Curse Effect," "% increased Conductivity Curse Effect" or "% increased Punishment Curse Effect."
All of these rolls are basically as good as eachother and hitting any of them is good. Punishment wount show up as a dps increase due to the Config not being set to "Enemy is on Low Life" but it is just as good.

Another alternative is to go for "+x% to maximum Lightning Resistance." This will make you slightly tankier if you feel like your dps is high enough.

Body Armour

For this build we will want to use a Hybrid Evasion/Energy Shield Body Armor ideally a Sadist Garb as the Evasion Rating is very powerful to keep us alive and, it will end up giving us more Energy Shield than a pure ES base due to Escape Artist.
The ideal Body Armour will have 2 Hybrid Evasion/Energy Shield Prefixes with a Gravicus dual "Phys taken as" craft with Spell Suppression and a Essence of Loathing Reservation roll.

This Body Armour will cost 5-20 Div to buy and 10-15 Div to craft but this will pretty much be your BiS until a Mirror Tier Body Armour.

Belt Crafting Guide

Buy a Double Fractured Sadist Garb, ideally one with Fractured % Evasion/Energy Shield and Flat Evasion/Energy Shield.
You can also look for one with Fractured Spell Suppression to make this easier.

PLEASE PLEASE MAKE SURE IT HAS AN OPEN PREFIX
A lot of the bases on the trade website might have more than those 2 Fractures on them. Its fine AS LONG as it has an Open Prefix and an Open Suffix at a minimum.
IDEALLY - Try to get a base with NO Fractured Suffix that ISN'T Spell Suppression, it will MASSIVELY increase crafting costs by an extra 5-10 Div.

(Availability of these is due to fluctuate)
Trade Link to buy a Fractured base - https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Necropolis/DywMLV2I5

1. Use Deafening Essences of Loathing to guarantee "x% increased Mana Reservation Efficiency of Skills" until you get Tier 1 or 2 "+x% chance to Suppress Spell Damage." This is ~1/80 chance with no Fractured Suffix and a ~1/273 chance WITH a Fractured Suffix.
You can also use the cheaper Shrieking essences to cut down on costs.

2. You will need an Open Prefix. If you don't have one, use an Eldritch Ember to give the Body Armour Searing Exarch Influence then use an Eldritch Orb of Annulment to remove a Prefix.
Since we have 2 Fractured Prefixes, this is guaranteed to clean up the random Prefix.

3. Craft the "x% of Physical Damage from Hits taken as Fire Damage/x% of Physical Damage from Hits taken as Lightning Damage" Hybrid Mod in your Open Prefix.

Once you have your Body Armour:
Use "Grand Eldritch Ichor" on the Body Armour to get "% increased maximum Energy Shield." This will give us a very large amount of Energy Shield.
You can use lower Ichors on a budget but ideally this should be Grand Tier.

Use "Grand Eldritch Ember" on the Body Armour to get "% increased effect of Non-Curse Auras from your Skills." Aura Effect is just free damage and defenses.
You can use lower Embers on a budget but this ideally should be Grand Tier.

IMPORTANT: 6-Linking for Cheap

With the addition of the new Scarabs in 3.24, we now have the Black Morrigan that gives us a lot of interesting new crafting options.
One of these is the ability to 6-Link an item for very cheap. This will be done in the Bestiary with a very simple craft.

First, make sure your Body Armour has 6-Sockets. Then, go buy a Craicic Sand Spitter and a Black Morrigan beast.
PLEASE NOTE THAT BLACK MORRIGAN IS PRICE FIXED - Make sure to set your Buyout Price in the bottom left of the filters to "Chaos or Divine Orb" to see the ones not listed for Chisels.

Lastly, go to the Bestiary, Right Click both beasts to add them to your Menagere, then use the Altar to do the craft "to Have Maximum Possible Links" on your Body Armour.

Belt

For this build our best belt before Mageblood will be a crafted belt.
We are going to want to use a Stygian Vise with Energy Shield, Elemental Damage with Attacks, Strength & Resistances.

Belt Crafting Guide

Buy a Fractured Stygian Vise with one of the following Fractures: Energy Shield, Elemental Damage with Attacks, Strength or 1 Resistance.
There are a LOT of these and it's hard to tell you exactly what to buy.
Try to do some window shopping and look at options before you pick. Ideally you would prefer it to be Fractured Energy Shield or Strength to make the rest of the craft easier but any Resistance works too.
Elemental Damage with Attacks as the only valuable Fractured Mod would make for the most expensive craft.

What I recommend - Buy a base with 2 Fractured Mods you care about, this will significantly cut down the cost of the craft. This will also give you a better belt.

(Availability of these is due to fluctuate)
Trade Link to buy a Fractured base - https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Necropolis/LwjyleBhn

Trade Link for a 2 Mod Fractured Base (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) - https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Necropolis/nKvgZZyc0

1. Use Deafening Essences of Woe to guarantee "+x to maximum Energy Shield" or Deafening Essences of Rage to guarantee "+x to Strength" based on which one you are missing.
If you bought Fractured Energy Shield, spam with Rage to guarantee Strength and if you bought Fractured Strength, spam with Woe to guarantee Energy Shield.

You are looking to get two Tier 2 or higher Resistances with an Open Prefix. It doesn't matter which 2 you hit as you can always use the Harvest Bench to change them. This will be a ~1/297 chance.
You can always use Shrieking Essences but I wouldn't recommend that if you are using Rage due to the lower Strength roll.

2. If you ended up getting an Open Prefix, craft "x% increased Elemental Damage with Attack Skills." I wouldn't recommend Annulling for it unless you are ok with potentially restarting the craft.

Weapon

The only weapon for this build is going to be Ephemeral Edge.
It is where all of the scaling comes from and it is 100% irreplaceable.

What we will want to do now is upgrade to one that is corrupted with Resolute Technique.
Prior, we were playing with Elemental Overload which required us to Crit to activate the 40% More Damage. Now, we are playing with Precise Technique which stops us from critting.
This means we can get Resolute Technique on our Sword which will give us 100% Hit Chance for free.

This will be a big upgrade to make as it allows you to drop both Acuity & Depth Perception along with the 2 Masteries saving you 8 Passive Points which would then allow you to fit in a 2nd Cluster Jewel.
Overall, this corruption is worth ~20% of your DPS due to all of the changes you can make.

To add in the 2nd Cluster Jewel, you will need a Thread of Hope to save enough Passive Points to make it work.
You can also choose to drop Marked for Death until you get a Thread of Hope to setup a 2nd Cluster Jewel.

Shield

We will finally stop Dual Wielding and finally move on to a proper Shield.
Prior, we were going to use the Shield Mastery to get our Ailment Immunity cap but since then we have optimized this build to not require it anymore.

This means we don't need a "x% chance to Avoid Elemental Ailments" mod our shield and are free to do anything with it.
Due to this, we will be upgrading to an Atziri's Reflection. This shield was practically made for our build giving us Evasion, Energy Shield, Curse Effect & Resistances.

Reflection will end up being your BiS shield all the way up until a Mirror Tier shield meaning you will most likely never be replacing this.
When shopping for one, make sure it is a 16% or higher Effect of Curse roll as we need that roll to hit the 100% Effect breakpoint for Sniper's Mark in the future.
You can always Divine this yourself later so don't worry too much about it.

If you wish to know more about this breakpoint, please read the Q&A at the top of the Note section.

Gloves

For this build we will want to use an Energy Shield pair of Gloves, ideally Sorcerer Gloves.
The ideal Gloves are going to be ones with Double Energy Shield Prefixes along with a "x% increased Damage while Leeching" craft.
As for Suffixes, we will want Fractured Attack Speed, Intelligence, and 1 Resistance.

Gloves Crafting Guide

Buy a Double Fractured pair of Sorcerer Gloves, ideally one with Fractured % Energy Shield, Flat Energy Shield, Intelligence, or Attack Speed.
IMPORTANT - Please pre-plan what Resistance you would want on these Gloves as you CANNOT Harvest reroll the Fractured Mod if you do get a Resistance.

You can really get any 2 Fractures together, it doesn't matter too much as all of them would work to make a good pair of Gloves.
DO NOT BUY A PAIR OF GLOVES WITH 3 FRACTURED PREFIXES - You will need 1 Open Prefix to craft "x% increased Damage while Leeching" at the end.

Trade Link to buy a Fractured base - https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Necropolis/8YpDao8IV

1. If you bought a pair of Gloves without "+x% increased Attack Speed," then use Deafening Essences of Zeal to guarantee it until you get a Tier 1 Energy Shield or Resistance Mod based on your Fractures.

If you bought a Fractured "+x% increased Attack Speed" pair of Gloves, use Deafening Essences of Spite to guarantee "+x to Intelligence."
If you ended up buying a Fractured pair of Gloves with both Fractured "+x% increased Attack Speed" AND "+x to Intelligence" then, use Deafening Essences of Anger/Hatred/Wrath to guarantee a Resistance.
You would then be looking for either Tier 1-2 Flat Energy Shield or Tier 1-2 % Energy Shield.

Your goal here is to get a pair of Gloves with an Open Prefix, % ES, Flat ES, and Attack Speed plus 2 of the following Suffixes: Intelligence, Fire/Cold/Lightning Resistance.
This means you will just use an Essence to guarantee one of the 2 Mods you are missing until you have 4 desired Mods in total.

Example: I bought a Fractured Flat Energy Shield & Intelligence pair of Gloves. In this case I need Attack Speed, a Resistance, and an Open Prefix.
What I would then do is use Deafening Essences of Zeal to guarantee "+x% increased Attack Speed" until I hit a Tier 1 Resistance.
Once I do get it, I would need to get an Open Prefix to move on to Step 3 if there isint one already.

2. You will need an Open Prefix. If you don't have one, use an Eldritch Ember to give the Gloves Searing Exarch Influence then use an Eldritch Orb of Annulment to remove a Prefix.
If this removes either of the Energy Shield Prefixes, you need to start over again.

3. Craft "x% increased Damage while Leeching" on the Gloves. Use an Exalted Orb to try and get a good roll if there are any Open Prefixes left.

Once you have your Gloves:
Use "Grand Eldritch Ichor" on the Gloves to get "x% increased Effect of your Marks." This roll is needed for us to hit the 100% Mark Effect breakpoint for a 4th Split.
You can use Lesser Eldritch Ichors for now if you want but eventually it will need to be Grand Tier for the breakpoint.

Use "Lesser Eldritch Ember" or "Grand Eldritch Ember" if you can afford it to hit "% increased Attack Speed."
Attack Speed is one of the most important rolls in this build and ideally you want as high of a roll as possible.

Boots

For this build we will want to use an Energy Shield pair of Boots, ideally Sorcerer Boots.
The ideal Boots are going to be ones with Double Energy Shield Prefixes and Movement Speed.
As for Suffixes, we will want Fractured Intelligence, an Essence Chance to Avoid Ailments roll and 1 Resistance.

Boots Crafting Guide

Buy a Double Fractured pair of Sorcerer Boots, ideally one with Fractured % Energy Shield, Flat Energy Shield, Resistances or Movement Speed.
IMPORTANT - Please pre-plan what Resistance you would want on these Boots as you CANNOT Harvest reroll the Fractured Mod if you do get a Resistance.

You can really get any 2 Fractures together, it doesn't matter too much as all of them would work to make a good pair of Boots.
IF YOU BUY A PAIR OF BOOTS WITH 3 FRACTURED PREFIXES - Please make sure one of them is Movement Speed.

DO NOT BUY A PAIR OF BOOTS WITH 3 FRACTURED SUFFIXES - We need to obtain the Essence of Loathing Mod "x% chance to Avoid Elemental Ailments" and 3 Fractured Suffixes would prevent this.

Trade Link to buy a Fractured base - https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Necropolis/20wk74eik

1. Use Deafening Essences of Loathing to guarantee "x% chance to Avoid Elemental Ailments" until you get a Tier 1 Energy Shield, Movement Speed or Resistance Mod based on your Fractures.

If you bought a Fractured pair of Boots with a Resistance and Movement Speed for example, you would be rolling until you get a 2nd Tier 1 Resistance.
If you have a pair of Boots with 2 Fractured Resistances then you would be rolling until you get a high Movement Speed roll or good Energy Shield Mods.

Your goal here is to get a pair of Boots with an Open Prefix if no Movement Speed, % ES/Flat ES, and the Loathing "x% chance to Avoid Elemental Ailments" Mod plus 2 of the following Suffixes: Fire/Cold/Lightning Resistance.
This means you will just use an Essence to guarantee one of the 2 Mods you are missing until you have 4 desired Mods in total.

Example: I bought a Fractured Flat Energy Shield & Resistance pair of Boots. In this case I need the Loathing "x% chance to Avoid Elemental Ailments" Mod, Movement Speed and a 2nd Resistance ideally.
What I would then do is use Deafening Essences of Loathing to guarantee "x% chance to Avoid Elemental Ailments" until I hit a Tier 1 Resistance or Tier 3 or higher Movement Speed.
I can then just craft a Resistance onto the Boots or try to get an Open Prefix with Step 2 to craft Movement Speed onto the Boots.

2. You will need an Open Prefix IF you don't have Movement Speed on the Boots.
Ignore this step if you rolled NON Fractured Movement Speed.
If you don't have an Open Prefix, use an Eldritch Ember to give the Boots Searing Exarch Influence then use an Eldritch Orb of Annulment to remove a Prefix.

3. Craft Movement Speed on your Boots. If they already have Movement Speed, craft either "x% increased Energy Shield" or "+x to maximum Energy Shield" based on which one you are missing.

4. Divine the "x% chance to Avoid Elemental Ailments" roll to AT LEAST 27%. This will be required to hit 100% with Ancestral Vision and the Boot Implicit.

Once you have your Boots:
Use "Grand Eldritch Ichor" on the helmet to get "x% chance to Avoid Elemental Ailments." This roll HAS to be Grand in order for us to hit 100%.
Use Blessed Orbs to reroll the roll once you obtain it to 23%.

Use "Lesser Eldritch Ember" or "Grand Eldritch Ember" if you can afford it to hit "x% increased Movement Speed."

Rings

There are only 2 rings we will want in this build, Nimis & Anathema.
You should already have Anathema so we will discuss Nimis.

Nimis is pretty much a 2-3x DPS increase in this build depending on what your setup looks like.
This is due to it basically having built-in Returning Projectiles while not having the 62% Less Damage multiplier that Returning Projectiles does.
This also means that we can completely replace Returning Projectiles with another support gem.

Ideally, you would want to use Elemental Damage to Attacks or Damage on Full Life, they both are the same so just get whichever is cheaper at 20/20.
Eventually, you'd want to upgrade to Awakened Elemental Damage to Attacks which would be stronger.

Nimis will make your Splitting Steel attack in random directions which might sometimes be annoying for clearing but it really shouldn't be noticeable due to Splitting Steel's auto-aim with the Splits in the first place.
This is a very big upgrade for the build and should be a top priority to obtain.

Until you can afford one, just use any generic ring that fixes any Strength/Resistance issues you might have.
Once you do obtain one, it should be Plug-and-Play assuming you can fix any Attribute/Resistance issues that might arrive from replacing your old ring.

Flasks

Flasks are going to be very simple in this build as there isn't anything special we need except generic Tank Stats and Movement Speed.

There are also going to be a few Unique Flasks to consider.

Taste of Hate is a great addition as it will give us "Physical Damage taken as Cold" which is an amazing defensive layer.
Outside of its ability to make us tankier to Physical Damage, it doesn't really do anything in this build other than give us a bit of Maximum Cold Resistance.
It is a great flask to keep you alive if defense is what you are after.

Dying Sun is a very powerful burst DPS flask offering us 2 additional Projectiles which is 20% More DPS while it is active.
Due to its poor uptime it is only really good as a flask for extra Boss DPS and nothing else as it won't have much uptime during maps.

Bottled Faith is a compromise to Dying Sun as it will have much better uptime allowing for multiple uses during some Bosses.
As long as you are fighting a Boss inside of the large Consecrated Ground area, it will be a 10% More DPS buff.
This will have some negative synergy with your Sulphur Flask meaning you most likely will want to replace it for something else such as a Jade flask.

Normal Flasks
We are going to want to run 4 Utility Flasks in this build.
For the 4 Utility Flasks we are going to want: Quicksilver, Quartz, Sulphur and a Jade or Granite.
All this build really needs is generic tank stats so we are going to use our flasks for that specific purpose.

There isn't much else to say here other than make sure you focus on your flasks. These are with you at all times and are very much an extension of your build.
Make sure to upgrade to Tier 1 rolls when you can as it does make a difference and make the build overall feel better.

Flask Prefixes
On your 4 utility flasks you want "x% reduced Duration, 25% increased effect" as your Prefix.
We unfortunately dont have any sort of flask mods in this build allowing us to extend the duration of them but as this build is meant to do high density farming it will always be up.

Another option is to go for the Prefix "Gain x Charges when you are Hit by an Enemy"
This will give you 100% uptime in high density maps and might feel better than Increased Effect due to the higher uptime.

Flask Suffixes
There are 4 major Suffixes that we want to get on our flasks.

We need:
x% increased Movement Speed during Effect
x% increased Evasion Rating during Effect
x% increased Attack Speed during Effect
x% increased Amour Rating during Effect

Gems

There are some very powerful jewels for this build that we want to be on the lookout for.

Watcher's Eye is also a very important unique for this build, helping us get an incredible amount of Utility or Damage.
On a Watcher's Eye you want to prioritize the Haste "You have Phasing while affected by Haste" mod.
This is a very powerful mod that will give you permanent Phasing allowing you to always get right under a Boss giving you an optimal position to guarantee all Splits hit the boss.
It might not look like a DPS increase but it is, allowing you to hit every projectile.
If you are sticking with Wrath, the old "x% increased Lightning Damage while affected by Wrath" mod is just fine and is very powerful.

Thread of Hope allows us to pick up a lot of efficient passive points for very little effort. This saves us enough Passive Points to give us space for a Cluster Jewel and is important for fitting a 2nd one.
We want specifically a "Large" variant for this build. These are slightly pricey and will require additional consideration for the Ele Res loss but is very much worth it.

The Perandus Pact is a new jewel added in 3.24 that gives all Passive Points within its radius a certain additional stat.
In the case of this build, we want the "Passive Skills in Radius also grant 3% increased Energy Shield" variant.
This when put into the Shadow socket by the +1 Power Charge is worth 45% increased Maximum Energy Shield or ~1k extra ES and ~10% DPS.
There is another variant that gives Lightning Damage which is worth ~2% more DPS but since it's just Lightning Damage, it's not worth losing the free 1k ES the ES variant gives.

Ancestral Vision is a core part of this build allowing us to get 50% of our Spell Suppression as Chance to Avoid Elemental Ailments.
Since we are at 100% Spell Suppression, this means we get 50% and when combined with 50% from a Boot craft, this puts us at 100% chance which gives us our Ailment Immunity.
This is crucial to not die to things such as Delirium Ailments or Shock and can be seen as a massive defensive layer.

Forbidden Flesh/Flame are 2 jewel pairs that give you an Ascendancy point when you have a matching set.
In our case, we want either a Spellbreaker set or Soul Drinker set. This will allocate one of the two and then allow us to pick up the other.
This means if you buy a Soul Drinker set, you can then Unspec out of Soul Drinker and path to Spellbreaker.

There is also the option of finding a Polymath or One Step Ahead pair to accomplish the same thing but, these are typically very expensive due to popularity.

Cluster Jewel

We will want to upgrade into using a Cluster Jewel in this build as it will give us a very large amount of both Attack Speed and raw Damage.
Until you can afford a Cluster Jewel, pick up points on the passive tree such as Void Barrier, Depth Perception and Marked for Death.

As for the cluster you would want, you want to look for one with Feed the Fury, Fuel the Fight & Martial Prowess.
This combo can exist on multiple different Cluster bases with the Ideal one being on a "12% increased Attack Damage while holding a Shield" base.

This will be pretty expensive so to start off, we will just buy the cheapest one with the 3 Notables ignoring the base Jewel.
I DO NOT recommend attempting to craft this, Cluster Jewels are very awful to craft and it's just easier and less frustrating to buy one.
