All the rare items in this PoB are sample items showing minimum requirements for an item in that slot. You should aim to craft or buy better.
Important notes that you should read if you're having trouble understanding certain choices or requirements:
1. Avoid stun avoidance on the tree, especially at Heart of Oak & Brine King Pantheon, it prevents Bloodnotch from working properly
2. We are not investing in evasion since our defenses are based on getting hit
3. The single life gain on hit node exists so that Blast Rain triggers from Manaforged Arrows restores mana. This set up lets you run no regen
4. Elemental Flasks are used to minimise the impact of minus max res map mods
5. Darkscorn converts phys damage taken to chaos so having as much chaos res as possible is crucial
6. You can check Flask Uptime via PoB in the 'Items' section by hovering over them. You want 100% Uptime on elemental flasks, but not Granite/Quicksilver (too much investment/not worth/they get close anyway)
7. 100% Average and X% minimum on flask hover means flasks do not have guaranteed 100% uptime
8. Don't put important mods on Granite/Quicksilver (such as Ele Res or Reduced Mana Cost) since they will occasionally be down
9. Vengeant cascade allows for double hits, you can't skip it as it gives us 2x boss damage in most cases
10. This build naturally maintains nearly 15 full wither stacks without the help of wither step, but wither step helps improve ramp time
11. The crit immunity poison mastery is mandatory for Bloodnotch in this build
12. The energy shield mastery allows you to be stunned when taking at least (approx) 50 damage, letting Bloodnotch almost always work
13. eHP isn't calculated properly for this build. Adding evasion massively improves PoB eHP but doesn't actually buff your in game tankiness by much.
14. The cobalt jewel spot is 'better' for Inertia, but converts too much Dex. Easier to solve attributes this way on a budget.
15. We run purifying flame in our Cwdt set up to give us some extra regen to counteract dots, but it casts at enemies so you have to be mindful of it, it's fake/conditional regen but still worth including
16. Molten Shell is mostly used to protect you in case a first big hit fails to stun due to you having energy shield. Molten Shell keeps you safe while you recover Life.
17. Poison DPS is fake, always aim for more than the PoB shows

Recommended Upgrade Order:
1. Progenesis + Haste - It's such a large improvement to our survivability and QoL that it should come before all else.
Progenesis rolls altar how we build the rest of the character
Progenesis replaces Granite Flask, letting you replace Determination with Haste
2. Awakened Unbound Ailments/Deadly Ailments/Vicious Proj - Cheap and a huge DPS increase
3. Anomalous Increased Duration - Enables zero mana cost malevolence blessing
4. Dot Multi Medium Jewel + Bleed Chance Jewel - large DPS increase for a low cost
5. Phasing Watcher's Eye - Big QoL at a low cost
5. StrangleGasp - Large DPS increase at a large cost, only worth getting only the cheaper upgrades are out of the way imo
6. Awakened Void Manipulation - Expensive for what it adds over unawakened VM
7. Corrupted Covenant - Will probably be pretty expensive, skip it if it goes above 10 divines and pick one up later
8. 6 Link Darkscorn + Divergent Life Gain on Hit - Minor upgrade for some QoL and you can save 1 point on tree
9. Enchanted/Corrupted Helm
10. All the remaining rares - Upgrading the remaining rares tends to give lower return but they're worth doing whenever you need to for Chaos Res/Strength requirements or after everything else
11. 2 Mod Watcher's Eye - The lowest priority upgrade for what it gives
