i cooked this in ~15 minutes, PLEASE consult Zeeboub and his penance bible before playing if you dont know what you're doing. this is just how i league start penance and this is what my gear would look like on day 1.
this is not an S tier starter, but its servicable.

SOME THOUGHTS

* YOU WANT 20 QUALITY ON YOUR ASSASSINS MARK FOR PCHARGE GENERATION ON BOSSES
* i opt for evasion/ES/supression over the typical armour/ES builds - if youre mapping i think armour is dogshit without strong investment or supporting stats (i.e. DR from endu charges)
* playing without clusters kind of sucks but theyre actually expensive as fuck early (even if you craft your own, its not bad but also not good harvest reforge odds). id rather have suppress on tree -> suppress on gear -> free up passives for triple medium clusters.
* JUST USE WONDERTRAPS. first 100% rarity is very noticeable, theyre equippable low level, help with attributes, blah. as soon as im low life, im wearing them til endgame
* i usually wont swap to inpulsa's & storms gift until i have a shaper helmet that ive banged with a harvest reforge crit. pick any old shit up cheap early, roll minimum of +2 base crit
* as soon as you have inpulsas, drop herald of ice & ash (or purity) and pick up hatred (or zealotry, or wrath)
* i typically get rid of inpulsas quite early for a basic single influence explode chest on a decent eva/es base with harvest reforge phys. inpulsas sucks and being locked into storms gift sucks even more
* hitting hypothermia AND base crit on a shaper helmet is actually very cheap so send that early too
* corrupted soul (doryanis) glorious vanity & vitality is all you need to sustain righteous fire
* we've got dex so use vaal haste to go fast

CRAFTING HOT TIPS

* (assuming no changes) you can buy +1 wands for 1-10c each and recombine them and craft cast speed. these can carry you hard as fuck early
* for +2 wands thatll carry you through all content either:
  1. recombine +1 all spells with deafening woe (or trade search t1 spell dmg) -> anull 3rd prefix if needed -> lock prefixes scour -> multimod/lock prefix/block attack -> reforge phys -> multimod cast speed & crit multi
  2. recombine +1 all spells & +1 phys or lightning spells (BUY ON TRADE) -> anull if needed -> lock prefixes scour -> lock prefixes veiled exalt -> unveil something useful -> multimod
* DO NOT BUY OVERPRICED ILVL 84 ARCHDEMON CROWN BASES. buy a cheap low ilvl one, buy an 86+ **ANY** helmet and use recombinator to 50/50 raise the ilvl on the archdemon crown
